Marcus Grodi: A Presbyterian Minister Who Became A Catholic

For more information about this series of posts and this TV series, see this page.

The fortieth episode of The Journey Home is titled “Marcus Grodi: A Presbyterian Minister Who Became A Catholic” and aired September 4, 1998. It can be viewed online here.

This is the first anniversary episode – clearly there are a few that are missing from the website – and they have the usual host as the guest, as you can tell from the title.

He, like most of his guests, was never not Christian. Also like most of his guests, one of his reasons for becoming Catholic was that the Catholic Church has a better argument for authority.

Authority’s nice, but I’d rather have evidence.

So far, our breakdown of the guests’ religious state before conversion to Catholicism looks like this.

  • Repeat Guest: 2
  • Serious Christian: 27
  • Always Catholic: 8
  • Lax Christian: 1
  • Non-Christian, but religious: 2
  • Non-believer, but not very skeptical: 0
  • Skeptic: 0
