The thirty-fifth episode of The Journey Home is titled “Dr. Thomas C. Reeves: An Episcopalian Who Became A Catholic” and aired July 31, 1998. It can be viewed online here.

Thirty-six and a half minutes in, the guest says something very interesting: “When I was an atheist, I believed in the devil!” My response is, well you weren’t much of an atheist, then, were you?

Regardless, he had long been a serious Christian before becoming Catholic.

So far, our breakdown of the guests’ religious state before conversion to Catholicism looks like this.

  • Repeat Guest: 2
  • Serious Christian: 23
  • Always Catholic: 7
  • Lax Christian: 1
  • Non-Christian, but religious: 2
  • Non-believer, but not very skeptical: 0
  • Skeptic: 0
